Kidney patients must take both doses of COVID vaccine, said Dr. Arjuna Marasinghe, a kidney specialist at the Colombo National Hospital.
Dr. Marasinghe also said that people with kidney problems, those who are prone to bleeding or those who use drugs that weaken the body’s immune system should not be unduly afraid to take corona vaccines.
The specialist said that none of the kidney patients who received the corona vaccine had serious complications.
The specialist doctor said that kidney patients as well as other members of their families can save the lives by using proper health practices.
If a kidney patient is infected with the corona virus, it is important to immediately inform the area’s public health inspector and the medical clinic of the hospital where he is receiving treatment, said Dr. Marasinghe.
