➢ Clean-up begins from Kelaniya
The Special Assignments and Environment Division of the Presidential Secretariat has taken steps to launch an urban beautification programme focusing on the Western Province.
In the first phase of city beautification, road cleanliness and environmental conservation operations in the Colombo district are already underway. The preliminary discussion on the commencement of the simultaneous clean-up operation in the Kelaniya Police Division was held at the Peliyagoda People’s Church Conference Hall yesterday (28) under the patronage of Mr. Roshan Rajapaksa, Director of the Special Assignments and Environment Division of the Presidential Secretariat and S. S. P. Roshan Dias in charge of the Kelaniya Division. Officials from Local Government Institutions, Road Development Authority, Water Supply and Drainage Board also participated in the discussion.
