In a recent and disturbing incident, a video depicting the brutal assault of a young woman by staff at a Cargill’s Foodcity branch came to light on social media. Although the location was initially unspecified, it was later confirmed to have occurred at the Kotapara Cargills branch, situated at the Obeysekarapura junction under the jurisdiction of the Borella Police.
The attack, linked to a chocolate theft, transpired on the 18th of the month. Despite no formal complaint, the police took prompt action and initiated an investigation into the matter. As a result, five individuals, including female employees and the branch manager, were apprehended by the Borella Police yesterday in connection with the assault.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that two additional employees involved in the incident will also face arrest in due course. Notably, the video circulated on social media was sourced from the security camera footage at the branch in question, according to information provided by the police.
