The Minister of Power and Energy Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera mentions that Mr. Narendra Surana, Managing Director of Surana Solar Company of India, visited Sri Lanka and held a discussion with President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
The minister said that there was a preliminary discussion about investing in renewable energy projects in Sri Lanka and the possibility of producing solar panels in Sri Lanka.
It was also discussed that the solar company is looking for a suitable location for the production of solar panels in Sri Lanka and that it is hoped to identify suitable projects for investment and further discuss the development.
