Requests made to countries to return artefacts taken from the country

According to the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, requests have been made from several countries including the Netherlands and England to return the artefacts taken from the country during foreign invasions and colonial times.

Vidura Wickramanayake, the minister in charge of the subject, said that several artefacts that had been taken to Germany have already been handed over to Sri Lanka according to those requests.

The minister also expressed confidence that the Sri Lankan artefacts in the Netherlands will be delivered to Sri Lanka this year.

    1. Good. Next Sri Lankan politicians can be asked to return all What they have robbed from the people inckyding commissions taken on public money
We Sri Lankans are so pathetic. The moment Netherlands or Britain returns whatever artefacts it will be robbed again and be sitting in a politicians house as his personal belongings. What a disgraceful people we are.
