The private member’s proposal, which gives the minister the power to recall the dissolved local government bodies, has been gazetted as a draft bill.
The appointed member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, Jayantha Katagoda has presented the related private member’s proposal.
This bill amends several clauses included in the Municipal Council Ordinance Act, Municipal Council Amendment Act and Local Council Act.
The Bill was gazetted on 26th June.
Meanwhile, the new draft bill containing proposed laws regarding insulting a court of law or an institution has also been published by the Gazette.
This bill has been gazetted by Justice Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa.
