The ‘Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2023’ exhibition, which fulfills the dreams of job seekers, will be held today (12), tomorrow (13) and tomorrow (14) at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Center in the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall premises.
Its opening ceremony will begin today at 9.00 am under the chairmanship of President Ranil Wickramasinghe and Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha.
The exhibition is open to the public from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and entry is absolutely free.
This is a national level conference and exhibition and it is expected to bring together national and international stakeholders related to skills and talents on one platform.
This is organized as a skill exhibition held for the first time in Sri Lanka.
It is according to a concept of the Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha.
Emerging technologies in the fields of Construction Industry Skills Council (CISC), Information and Communication Technology Industry Skills Council (ICTISC), Manufacturing and Engineering Services Industry Skills Council (MESSCO), Tourism Industry Skills Council (TISC) and Agriculture Sector Skills Council (ASSC) Sectoral Skill Councils will be primarily presented in the “Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2023”.
This exhibition will be an ideal place to inform the people about the existing industrial training programs in these industries, to exchange data related to job vacancies and to direct job seekers to apply for those jobs.
Another objective is to create awareness about the skills and labor needs of the private sector.
A series of special career guidance programs will also be organized in conjunction with this exhibition to inform the people about the current trends related to the above mentioned five fields and the career opportunities available in those fields.
This will be a valuable opportunity for students and employers to meet experts and employers in the desired fields and also to be informed about the various career opportunities available in the respective sectors.
Through this, it is hoped to further develop the image of the relevant fields, to provide consultancy services on the use of technology and skill development, and to exchange information and data about the job market.
