    The state intelligence service officer was dropped from the group bringing Harakkata and Kudu Salindu to SL

    A four-member special police team is scheduled to leave for Madagascar from Katunayake Airport this evening to bring the Harakkata and Kudu Salindu arrested by Madagascar’s security forces to Sri Lanka.

    A police team consisting of an Assistant Superintendent of Police and a Chief Inspector from the Criminal Investigation Department and an Assistant Superintendent of Police and a Chief Inspector from the Police Special Task Force is scheduled to travel to Madagascar.

    It is special that two officers from the Special Task Force involved in underworld crime operations are joining this journey.

    A senior official of the State Intelligence Service was also involved in this group and at the last moment, that official was dropped out of this trip. Before thisstate intelligence officers are involved in international operations related to underworld criminals. An officer of the State Intelligence Service was also among the team that went to conduct investigations into the trafficking of women from Sri Lanka who were taken to work in Oman.

    Officials of the State Intelligence Service are involved in such trips to uncover intelligence.

    There are several intelligence reports that Harakkata and Kudu Salindu have had very close relations with several high officials of the police. According to the police information, the relevant police officers are currently worried about the bringing of Harakkata and Kudu Salindu to Sri Lanka.

    This police team, which is going to Madagascar this evening to bring Harakkata and Kudu Salindu, will probably bring them back to this country on Monday night or Tuesday.

    Police information also stated that the four people arrested with these two criminals, including Panadure Sudda and Tharanga, will be produced in court by the Madagascar Police and deported to Sri Lanka.
