    Interest rates have raised

    The central bank has taken steps to raise interest rates.

    It was at the meeting held yesterday (03) by the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

    Accordingly, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has decided to increase the fixed deposit facility rate and the regular credit facility rate by 100 basis points to 15.50% and 16.50% respectively.

    This will be effective from the close of business yesterday (03).
