    Minister Keheliya’s phone bill case: Notice to several government agencies

    The Colombo High Court has issued notices to several government institutions today.

    In relation to a case pending against Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, he was told to take steps to provide the documents requested by the defendant.

    In 2012, the minister has been accused of causing a loss to the government by paying his personal mobile phone bill of Rs. 230,000 with the money of the State Printing Corporation.

    This case was filed by the Bribery Commission against two defendants including Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

    When the case was called today (09), the defendants, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and Jayampathi Bandara Heenkenda, the former chairman of the State Printing Legalized Corporation, appeared before the court.

    The Colombo High Court ordered that this case be called for further pre-trial conference on March 9th.
