A high-powered claymore bomb was found yesterday (13) which was buried in a fish-drying spot located on Sumangala Mawatha in Ahungalla.
According to the information received by the Acting OIC of the Tangalle Police Headquarters, this bomb was found when he went to Ahungalla to check that place.
This bomb, manufactured by the Sri Lanka Air Force, was found buried near a wall surrounding that fish-drying spot.
The police say that this bomb weighs about two and a half kilos, and it is suspected that this bomb was planted in this place about a month or two ago.
The owner of this fish-drying spot is a resident of Kosgoda, Pitiyagoda in Madomba. A senior police officer said that he is currently being handed over to the police. A senior police officer said that an investigation had been started to arrest him.
