Dullas says that the government is going to bathe like what happened to Haji

“We are kindly telling the government that if the elections are postponed, all the parties will wash out the government as what happened to Haji,” said Mr. Dullas Alahapperuma, Member of Parliament, while attending the news conference organized by the ‘Free People’ Council.

At the news conference held on the 30th, Mr. Dullas Alahapperuma revealed that the government is preparing to remove Mr. Nimal Punchihewa, the chairman of the Election Commission, based on the technical facts that arose with the 21st constitutional amendment.

“The provincial council election that was postponed in 2017 has not yet happened. This government is trying to run away without facing people’s opinions. After the twenty-first amendment was passed, the government has another reason.

Mr. Nimal Punchihewa, Chairman of the Election Commission, said that if anyone tries to postpone the elections at this time, I am ready to go to court.

Now the best hope of the government is to remove the Chairman of the Election Commission.

There is a technical reason mentioned above through 21st amendment. I am warning this country that the government is trying to do both these two at the same time. One of the government’s wishes is to remove Mr. Nimal Panchihewa, who said that if the elections are postponed, he will go to court.

Last week, the media reported about an Iranian citizen, his name is Amov Haji, a 94-year-old man. According to media reports, Haji has not bathed in 54 years. Haji lived in Iran as a non-bather. The reason why he did not bathe for 54 years was because of Haji’s belief that he would die if water falls on his head. That is why he did not put a drop of water on his body for 54 years and he was called the dirtiest person in the world. The people of the village couldn’t tolerate this and took Haji by force and bathed him. This person died after bathing.

This government is just like Haji. Haji is afraid of bathing, the government is afraid of elections. We warn the government. Last week, twenty-three parties in Parliament came to a consensus against shrinking the electoral map. Apart from the United National Party representing the government, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna, all other twenty-three political parties, including us, came to a consensus.

There, signed a document against postponing the election. The broadest political unity in the history of the parliament was built out of it. We kindly tell the government that if the elections are postponed, we are ready to destroy the government with all the parties. Therefore, the government has to put a trick to postpone this to save their lives. We tell the people that the election is not the main problem of this country. This is a country with many serious problems. But if the government is not sensitive to the people’s opinion, the government should be pushed to be sensitive. We will not allow the government to run away in a gross manner.” Member of Parliament Dullas Alahapperuma mentioned.
