A ship carrying urea fertilizer needed for paddy farming in this Maha season arrived at Colombo harbor last night and anchored.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Conservation stated that there are 12,500 metric tons of urea fertilizer there.

A senior official of the ministry also said that another ship carrying 120,000 metric tons of urea for the Maha season is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka in November.

The World Bank has given this country a loan of 110 million dollars to buy this fertilizer.
