    The new retirement age limit in government service is not applicable to some employees

    The government announces that the reduction of the mandatory retirement age of government employees to 60 years in the Interim Budget will not apply to the services whose retirement age was earlier revised on the basis of human resource requirements.

    The Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration issued an announcement saying this.

    The Amended Appropriation Bill 2022 which has been submitted to the Parliament has proposed to reduce the retirement period in the government sector and semi-government sector to 60 years.

    It was also announced that all the employees of the government sector and semi-government sector who have reached the age of 60 will retire by December 31.

    Below is the announcement issued by the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration regarding the government service officers to whom the new retirement age limit does not apply.
