The Ceylon Electricity Board informs that it may take about two weeks to restore the first generator in Norochcholai, which suffered a breakdown today.
As the second generator is undergoing essential maintenance work, the number of megawatts lost to the national grid due to these two failures is 540MW.
Due to this, the Ceylon Electricity Board has informed the people that from tomorrow (16th), the daily electricity supply will be interrupted for about three hours until the broken down generator at the Norochchole power plant is restored.
