The government has decided to reinstate the Cabinet Subcommittee on Cost of Living.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa presented to this proposal to the cabinet and thus has been approved.
The Cabinet also approved the appointment of the Food Safety Committee under the chairmanship of the Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Safety with the participation of the secretaries of the relevant ministries to support the work of the Cabinet Subcommittee on Cost of Living.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee on Cost of Living will be re-established to recommend to the Cabinet the necessary policy and practical solutions to maintain a stable cost of living.
The composition of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Cost of Living will be as follows.
