The Engineers’ Association of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation says that it has decided to close the Sapugaskanda refinery from tonight (24) as no notice has been given of the arrival of the next crude oil tanker.
Its member engineer Channa Prabhath said that the management has instructed to continue the operations in the refinery using the safety pools.
He emphasized that the safe volume of crude oil would be used only if it was confirmed by morning that a fuel tanker would arrive within the next four days.
