    Don’t wait in fuel queues for the next 3-4 days – Minister of Energy

    Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera has requested the public not to wait in line for petrol in the next 3-4 days.

    According to the Minister of Energy, Ceypetco fuel pool has 40,000 metric tons of diesel, 4,000 metric tons of 92 octane petrol and 8,300 metric tons of 95 octane and LIOC has 10,000 metric tons of petrol left in the country as of today.

    A petrol tanker is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 23rd of this month and a diesel tanker on the 24th of this month.

    The Minister of Energy said that two ships carrying crude oil are scheduled to arrive on the 29th of this month and the 10th of July.

    Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera has stated that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation alone will not be able to supply the country’s fuel demand and a cabinet paper will be presented, to incorporate other companies such as the Lanka IOC into the country’s fuel supply process.

    Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera has called on the public to restrict travel as much as possible and asked to not engage in any kind of trips.
