Basil Rajapaksa, Member of Parliament for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and former Minister of Finance has submitted his resignation letter to the Secretary General of Parliament.
He says that from today onwards he will leave the government activities completely and will not be involved in anything but will continue in politics.
“I came to take over the ministry of finance. I do not think I belong in Parliament. I worked to the best of my ability. I would like to inform you that I am stepping down to allow a suitable person to be brought to Parliament through the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna. ”
