The Consumer Affairs Authority has issued a gazette setting a maximum retail price for a kilo of local raw rice with effect from today.
Accordingly, a maximum retail price of Rs. 220 per kilo of white and red nadu and a maximum retail price of Rs. 230 per kilo of white and red samba has been set.
In addition, the maximum retail price for Kiri Samba has been set at Rs. 260 per kilo.
The gazette notification issued setting these maximum retail prices has been signed by the Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Authority, retired General Shantha Dissanayake.
