    Import restrictions on non essential items are further extended (🛒🧾)

    A gazette notification signed by the Minister of Finance has been issued further extending the import restriction period imposed on 367 non-essential items from April 9.

    Accordingly, the importation of apples, butter, dates, oranges, skim milk, yoghurt, oats, chocolate, cornflakes and pasta under the diet is prohibited.

    These restrictions also apply to water bottles, beers, foreign liquors and cigarettes, as well as perfumes, cosmetics and shaving electronics.

    In addition, the same restrictions apply to air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, rice cookers, toasters, other household appliances and electronic appliances that are used to make coffee and tea.

    In addition, it states that such restrictions have been imposed on a number of goods, including electronics.
