The US government has issued a statement banning Russian aircraft from US airspace.
This is due to the escalating American invasion conflict in Ukraine.
“I am announcing that we will join our allies in closing off American airspace to all Russian flights, further isolating Russia and adding an additional squeeze on their economy,” Biden said in his State of the Union address.
State of the Union address is the President of the United States addressing the US Congress at the beginning of a year with a message explaining the objectives of the New Year in line with the current situation in the country.
Accordingly, from today onwards, the US Department of Transportation will implement the Federal Aviation Administration’s directives.
Accordingly, any Russian citizen or any of their owned, certified, leased, operational, registered, chartered airlines will be suspended.
This includes both passenger and cargo flights, and the U.S. Department of Transportation says they will close U.S. airspace for Russian commercial aircraft and other Russian civilian aircraft.
