Minister of Public Defense Dr. Sarath Weerasekara has also been infected with the Covid virus.
The Minister had arrived at the Narahenpita Police Hospital yesterday morning due to Kovid’s symptoms and had undergone a rapid antigen test and as a result, it was confirmed that the minister was not a Covid patient, hospital sources said.
As the Minister’s son is working as a doctor at the Police Hospital, he was given a PCR on his recommendation as well. An examination was later carried out and as a result, it was confirmed that the minister was infected with the virus.
The Minister, who is currently admitted to the Police Hospital and will be admitted to the IDH pr Kotelawala Defense University Hospital today.
