The Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage stated today (2) that compensation will be paid only for farmers who have used the four types of fertilizer provided by the government.
“We gave organic solid manure, bio-liquid fertilizer, potassium chloride, and nano nitrogen. Compensation will be paid only if the production is reduced by using all these 4 types of fertilizers. Otherwise, compensation cannot be paid if the farmers wait without doing anything.
No one talked about the good side of organic farming. Even the government does not speak for this. Why don’t we talk about losing the kidneys of the people and poisoning the people of the country?” The Minister also stated that everyone appeared only for the chemical fertilizer companies.
