The Minister of Trade Dr. Bandula Gunawardena today (18) stated how to get the special relief bags provided to the public through Sathosa for the upcoming festive season and the home delivery process.
At present a bag of goods worth around Rs. 2,751 in the market can be obtained from Sathosa for Rs. 1998 through this.
The special relief bag includes 10 kilos of samba rice, 2 kilos of brown sugar, 1 packet of noodles, 100 grams of tea leaves, 250 grams of dryfish, 2 bars of soap and 1 packet of papadam.
The relief bag can be ordered by calling 1998.
It is also possible to order the relevant relief package by sending a WhatsApp message to 0115 201 998.
Sathosa has taken steps to start distribution from Monday.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that the distribution of these items has been handed over to another institution as it is designed to be delivered to any household in the country within 48 hours.
He also said that the delivery fee will be a concessionary price.
