Sisira Jayakody, Attorney-at-Law, State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health said that arrangements have been made to distribute a door-to-door distribution of local medicine boxes to the Divisional Secretariats in the face of the Covid epidemic.
The first box of this is expected to be offered on Friday this week.
At present, the government has obtained the necessary cabinet paper for the program and has commenced production.
First of all, the Department of Ayurveda carries out a number of manufacturing activities, the Minister said.
The box contains Guduchchadi powder which is currently in use for the treatment in Ayurvedic hospitals, ‘Suwadharani’ an immunosuppressive drink and other healthy immunization porridges, specially approved in Ayurveda Medicine.
The Minister of State said that this box will be distributed first targeting the areas where the disease is most prevalent.
