Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) Administrative Secretary Chameera Koswatte, convener of the Inter-University Student Federation Wasantha Mudalige, and President of the Jayewardenepura University Students’ Union Amila Sandeepa who were remanded in custody for damaging state property and injuring the Maharagama Police OIC while protesting against the Kotelawala University Act have been diagnosed with the Covid 19 virus.
A PCR examination has confirmed that they are infected with Covid conducted at the Thaldena Detention Center in Badulla by the Prisons Department where the three are being held.
The three were arrested by the police on the 3rd and 5th of this month. After being produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court, he was remanded till the 11th and then that period was further extended until the 17th.
