The leaders of the Teachers ‘and Principals’ Associations say that they will not accept the circular sent by the Secretary of Education to report to schools as usual from tomorrow without resolving the salary anomaly of teachers and principals.
According to the teachers’ union representatives, the teachers, principals and non-academic employees have informed the education secretary in a letter that they will not report to schools, education offices or divisional offices from tomorrow.
The letter has been sent to the Secretary of Education with the signatures of more than 15 leaders of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union, Ceylon Teachers’ Service Union and Ceylon United Teachers’ Union.
