The second batch of vaccines for those who had received the first dose of Astrazeneca Covshield vaccine in the country is due to arrive in the island next Saturday.
Accordingly, a stock of 728,460 doses of Astrazeneca vaccine is expected.
The Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi stated that this stock will be given priority to give the second dose to the 490,000 people who have taken the first dose of Covshield Astrazeneca.
This Astrazeneca vaccine is available through the WHO COVAX facility.
