The forensic officer of the Kandy Hospital has lodged a complaint with the Kandy Police alleging that the false facts regarding the Moderna vaccine is being spread on social media and the public’s trust in the vaccine is being undermined at a time when the Covid vaccination is being carried out regularly throughout the country, said the Senior DIG, Police Media Spokesman, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana.
The complaint has been lodged as the Moderna vaccine is being given to the people of Kandy these days, said Ajith Rohana.
According to the complaint, the Kandy Police and the Divisional Crime Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation and the assistance of the CID is being sought, said Ajith Rohana.
Mr. Rohana further stated that the social media networks are spreading false information that Moderna is unhealthy and that nanotechnology has been added.
