The Coalition of Physicians for Medical and Civil Rights says that there is a shortage of human papilloma vaccines given to girls to reduce the risk of cervical cancer.
Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa, its chairman, said that there had been a shortage of those vaccines for about 8 months.
In this regard, Dr. Palitha Mahipala, secretary of the Ministry of Health, said that the ordered vaccines will be received in Sri Lanka by the beginning of next month.
