The Minister of Power and Energy Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera has ordered the management of the Ceylon Electricity Board not to pay any annual bonuses and other incentives to its employees.
Accordingly, it has been further informed about the policy decision and instructions given earlier to reduce operational and administrative expenses, that no bonus or incentives should be paid to any CEB employee for the year 2023.
This includes any incentives and bonuses previously paid to CEB employees.
He also informed in his letter that the 25% salary increase which is paid every 3 years from 2015 will not be implemented continuously.
Furthermore, the Minister has also asked to report to him the amount paid in the year 2023, the manner of payment, the number of vehicles rented and reserved for each CEB officer and the amount of money paid as rent for various allowances and incentives paid to CEB officials under 21 classifications.
