Aluthgama Police yesterday (03) arrested two persons, including a prison guard, in possession of the drug ice in the Kaluwamodara area.
The prison guard was a resident of Ambalangoda and had 10,750 milligrams of ice, police said. The other suspect is a resident of Aluthgama. He had 4300 milligrams of the drug ice.
The suspects are between 40 and 33 years of age. The prison guard was on leave when he was arrested and police are investigating whether he was in possession of the drug for use or trafficking.
The raid was carried out by a team led by Aluthgama OIC Chief Inspector Ashoka Karunaratne, OIC of the Anti-Corruption Unit Udayanga and Sub Inspector Rajitha Gurusinghe of the Crimes Division.
