Registration of players for the second phase of LPL begins

Sri Lanka Cricket has taken steps to register foreign players for the second edition of the prestigious Lanka Premier League Cricket Tournament starting from today (June 21).

Players wishing to participate in this year’s tournament can go to the official website of Sri Lanka Cricket www.srilankacricket.lk and register for the tournament.

After the registration process, the players in the tournament will be eligible to draft for selection of LPL players.

    Foreign players

L.P.L. To qualify for the tournament draft, players must meet the following qualifications:

Players must have represented their national team or
    Have played first-class cricket or
Should have played in a major T20 tournament based on the full member board tournament.

Those players must be approved by the relevant cricket board.

    Local players

Eligible players to play in this tournament will include only those players recommended by the National Cricket Selection Committee.
In addition to the national team, development team and ‘A’ team players, players representing the country’s premier cricket tournament will also be eligible.

    Group composition

The Ceylon Premier League will be held from July 29 to August 22 with the participation of five teams as in the previous tournament. The team’s initial squad should consist of 20 players, containing 14 local players and 6 foreign players.

If team ownership is desired, the tournament organizers have given the ability to retain four of the players who played last year for this year team composition, and those four must be 02 players from both local and foreign each.
