The Court of Appeal granted bail today (16) for former Director of the CID Shani Abeysekara who was remanded.
Shani Abeysekera was arrested on July 31 last year on a charge of fabricating false evidence and misleading the judiciary.
He has been a remand prisoner for nearly a year since then due to failure of obtain bail from the court.
A Sub Inspector who was arrested along with Shani Abeysekera and remanded with him for some time has also been granted bail.
