Problems in finding maize to produce Thriposha

According to the Ministry of Health, problems have arisen in obtaining quality maize for the production of Thriphosha for malnourished children in Sri Lanka.

The Director of the Family Health Bureau, Dr. Chithramali de Silva, said that there is a program to obtain raw materials through the World Food Organization.

Government allocations have largely been allocated to improve the production of Triphosa as a supplementary food for children suffering from malnutrition identified at the district level.

Also, special attention has been paid to implementing a program of giving nutritional packs at the district level and creating nutrition committees.

These programs are to be implemented at the rural, provincial and district levels.

She further stated that food security is expected from this.
