Cabinet Spokesperson, Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, says that it has been decided to acquire 11 aircraft under a lease basis for SriLankan Airlines to maintain the company until restructuring.
The minister emphasized this while replying to a question raised by a journalist at the cabinet decision notification press conference held today (13) at the Government Information Department.
The minister said that a business cannot be restructured after it collapses and pointed out that if the lease period of the currently acquired aircraft expires, there will be no business left to restructure.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena also said that if the business is not carried out until the restructuring is done, the restructuring has to be done as a very corrupt business.
