    Restructuring of public institutions does not mean privatization

    State Minister for Finance Dr. Ranjith Siambalapitiya says that restructuring of public institutions does not mean privatization.

    After a program held in Ruwanwella, the minister said that the institutions will be subjected to a special analysis by an expert committee and the necessary changes will be made.

    The minister who further commented said that there are different parts in the restructuring of different institutions, and it can be implemented in different ways from institution to institution.

    Also, the minister said that almost all the institutions that are being restructured suffer from lack of initial capital and working capital, and one of the objectives is to give strength to it.

    Also, the minister said that he hopes to achieve many things such as the problems of modern technology in the world, providing better management and thereby reducing the cost of production.

    The government has decided to urgently restructure a number of major public institutions in Sri Lanka that have been making losses for some time.
