‘A better future for every child’ is the theme of this year’s World Children’s Day.
Also, the theme of this year’s World Elderly Day is ‘The resilience of older people in a changing world.’
For this year’s World Children’s and Elders’ Day, the National Zoological Department has arranged for children below 12 years of age and adults above 60 years to visit Dehiwala Zoo and its affiliated zoos free of charge.
Accordingly, from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm today, children and adults will have the opportunity to visit Dehiwala Zoo, Pinnawala Zoo, Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Safari Park for free.
Arrangements have been made to hold many features organized for children in the zoos on this day.
These programs are being implemented on the occasion of Children’s Day with the aim of developing the educational knowledge, attitudes, abilities and entertainment of the children of the country.
