    Former commando soldier arrested for showing pistol to a group of people in a fuel queue

    A former commando soldier who was in a bus traveling from Galigamuwa to a Hettipola funeral home was arrested today for pointing a firearm and threatening a group of people queuing near Alavwa Morapitiya petrol station.This incident took place this morning.After going to the funeral home, a group of people who had drunk a lot of alcohol traveled in the bus. The police mention that the bus was taken by them on rental basis.When the bus approached the Morapitiya petrol station, the road was blocked by so many people that it was impossible for the bus to run. At that time, some drunken people in the bus had a dispute when they gave notice to the people who were standing blocking the road to leave.The police say that the ex-commando soldiers in the bus put a pistol through the window and shouted that they would shoot.At the same time, the people in the queue surrounded the bus and informed the police officers at the gas station. Accordingly, the police came there and checked and arrested 06 people who started the conflict with those who were waiting in the queue along with the firearm.The suspects are residents of Aheliyagoda, Pindeniya, Diyahodella, Pilawalagana and Malmaduwa.
