    Red light for postal workers

Post-Master General Ranjith Ariyaratne says that postal workers who are engaged in trade union action will be treated as having left the service if they do not report for duty.

He stated that due to these trade union actions, about 400 foreign mail bags have been piled up at the Colombo Central Mail Exchange.

The Post Master General further stated that the Postal Department has lost over Rs. 20 million in revenue due to this.

However, due to the fuel crisis, the postal service is currently only active on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
