The Police Headquarters has given the opportunity to obtain fuel from the Police Fuel Station at Narahenpita for the vehicles of the Members of Parliament.
IGP C.D. Wickramaratne had informed the Director of the Police Transport Division regarding the matter in writing yesterday, police said.
A senior police official said that these steps have been taken temporarily in view of the current situation in the country.
The official further stated that the Member of Parliament or the Minister should stay in the vehicle at the time of obtaining fuel and the fuel will be provided for cash.
