    Police started investigations looking for social media moderators involved in anti-social activities

    Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Attorney-at-Law Nihal Thalduwa stated that about 100 social media moderators have been identified who used social media to direct violence across the country following the attack on protesters in front of Temple Trees and in the Galle Face area on the 9th.

    Mr. Thalduwa said that several special police teams have commenced investigations to arrest the social media moderators as well as those involved in the crimes.

    Mr. Thalduwa said that the police are still seeking public assistance regarding those who have been involved in anti-social activities and crimes such as assaulting property.

    1. Social Media is not professional journalism. However, Social Media provides leads to nosey scribes and eavesdropping security networks. How strange it is that the real meaning of the Emergency is not understood by law keepers? How on earth could, under State Emergency, hundreds of poles wielding men be permitted to break the law ?
