The Federation of Health Professionals continued their nationwide strike today as well staging a protest in Colombo.
Today is the second day of action of the continued strike by nurses, health professionals and public health inspectors in several hospitals islandwide.
The trade union action was initiated on the basis of several demands, including the elimination of pay anomalies and the proper implementation of promotions.
It is reported that 17 trade unions are participating in this trade union action.
