The Director-General of Health Services has taken steps to extend the Health Guidelines Circular which was in force until 31st January to 28th February.
Meanwhile, the number of corona infections reported in one day crossed the 1,000 mark yesterday, four months later.
Deputy Director of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said, “We update the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health from time to time. The guideline circular which was in force until now was issued at the end of December and was due to run until the 31st of January.
In this case, the Director-General of Health Services has taken steps to extend it to February 28. Due to special reasons, the circular issued earlier this month will come into force in the future, subjecting to a few revisions.”
The Booster Vaccine Mobile Vaccination Program, which has just begun, is still in operation today.
The health department is requesting the public to obtain the booster vaccine without delay at various centers including the Battaramulla Diyatha Uyana.
