The Ministry of Power and Energy has decided to purchase electricity from private power plants.
Power and Energy Minister Gamini Lokuge has stated that the relevant proposal will be presented to the Cabinet tomorrow.
He has also said that he is currently taking steps to buy oil directly to the CEB through Indian Oil Company tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
A decision will be taken tomorrow (31) regarding the amount of oil required for power generation for the next week, the Minister said.
