Dubai buyer was found for the world’s largest blue sapphire found in Sri Lanka

Recognized as the world’s largest natural single sapphire, aka the Queen of Asia in Horana has reportedly agreed to buy a Dubai-based company for US $ 100 million.

The owner of the gem ownership company, gem explorer Chamila Suranga has said that the decision to present the gem to the world was made at this time due to the economic problems currently faced by Sri Lanka.

This world’s largest blue sapphire weighs close to 310 kilograms.

It was first exposed to the media on the 12th of last month.

The world’s largest natural single sapphire found in Sri Lanka or the Queen of Asia’s gem mine is still in exploration for more gems.

It is made of a combination of aluminum oxide, titanium, iron, and nickel. Sapphire is the type to which this belongs.

“We hope to give this to a buyer in the world at a higher price. It sells at the highest price offered. It has a blue color. It weighs 310 kilograms. Suppose 1 kilogram of Blue Sapphire is worth about US $ 100 million. If this gem consists of more than 1kg we can get a bigger value than that.

What is important is not to extract the sapphire from this gem. But things like this are very rare in the world and that is even from Sri Lanka. ” he said.
