Litro agreed to display a sticker on gas cylinders mentioning the composition

Litro has informed the court today that it has agreed to display a sticker on the cylinder showing the composition of the gases contained in the domestic gas cylinder.

The President’s Counsel representing Litro Gas has informed the court today that steps will be taken to release gas to the market in accordance with the standards set by the Standards Institution in the future.

The petition was filed by civil society activist Nagananda Kodithuwakku today (15) before a panel of Court of Appeal judges comprising Ruwan Fernando and Sampath Wijeratne.

President’s Counsel Harsha Amarasuriya, who appeared for Litro Gas at the time, told the court that action had been taken to recall the gas cylinders released by their clients to the market.

The President’s Counsel has pointed out that currently there is no prescribed composition to be contained in a domestic gas cylinder.

The President’s Counsel also informed that a meeting will be held on the 20th under the chairmanship of the Standards Institute of Sri Lanka to discuss its composition.

He said that only domestic gas cylinders approved by the Standards Institute are being released to the market at present.

The court ordered Litro Gas to include all these facts and submit an affidavit to the court tomorrow.
