    Central Bank re-establishes Monetary Policy Advisory Committee

    The Monetary Policy Advisory Committee of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has been reconstituted.

    The Central Bank says the committee was set up with effect from October 5.

    The new Monetary Policy Advisory Committee consists of 12 members, including experts from the private sector, business and education, and is chaired by Sunil Lankathilaka, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka.

    Other members are Ashok Pathirage the Chairman and Managing Director of Softlogic Group, Damitha Cook the Chief Financial Officer of Stason Group, Niranjan Dissanayake the Chairman of Import Division in Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Christopher Joshua the Managing Director of Access Engineering PLC, Professor of Economics Sunanda Madduma Bandara, CEO of Brandix Lanka Ashraff Omar, Chairman of Vallibel One Group and Co-Chairman of Hayleys PLC Dhammika Perera, Jayam Perumal the Chairman of Menotech Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., Dr. Kulatunga Rajapaksa the Honorary Managing Director of DSI Samson Group, Retired Senior Bank Officer Rusiripala Tennakoon and Hemas Holdings Group CEO Kasturi Chellarajah Wilson.
