The discussions with the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the teachers’ principals were very successful, said the President of the Sri Lanka Podujana Education Services Association, Wasantha Hadapangoda.
Ms. Wasantha Handapangoda said that the proposal made by the Prime Minister to grant a two-stage salary increase was commendable and that their union accepted it, as the government was in an economic crisis.
Accordingly, we will accept the increase and report to work after the schools reopen on the 21st, said Wasantha Handapangoda.
